Health and Wellness Resources

Staying healthy—physically and mentally—is really important when you are a student. However, it’s not always easy to stay healthy if you have a demanding course load, are managing relationships with friends or a significant other and are involved in extracurricular activities. Luckily, there are a number of resources on campus to help students stay in tip-top shape in both body and mind.

Medical Health

UC Davis Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) provides a wide variety of medical, mental health and wellness services to all registered UC Davis students regardless of insurance coverage. View service fees and a map to the facility location.

IMPORTANT: SHCS DOES NOT HAVE AN EMERGENCY ROOM FACILITY. IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY CALL 911.

Primary Care

Primary care appointments are staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses experienced in the medical needs of college students. The majority of the health issues you may experience while here at UC Davis will be effectively handled in this clinic.

Advice Nurse

Advice Nurse services are available at no charge for all UC Davis students wishing to discuss medical and mental health concerns and determine the need for care. These services, which are staffed by a registered nurse, can help you make informed decisions about your situation and direct you to the most appropriate departmental or campus resource.

The stress you experience may or may not be harmful depending on the level. Read more about signs and symptoms of stress and tip on how to manage stress. If you need additional support in stress management, make an appointment with counseling services.

One such program is called Fruit & Veggie Up!, which distributes fresh produce for free to UC Davis students, Monday through Friday at the Aggie Compass office in the Memorial Union.
