Fall quarter is here! Events You Don't Want to Miss

There's no better way to kick off the new academic year than Fall Welcome: a celebration of YOU and your arrival at UC Davis. 

So whether you are a new or returning Aggie, please join us at these Fall Welcome events and activities that begin with Move-in Weekend in September and last through Homecoming weekend in mid-October. 

Move-In Weekend

Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22
At the beginning of every school year, thousands of students—just like you—make their way to their new home of UC Davis. Unpack your bags, hug loved ones goodbye, meet your roommate(s), check out your new digs and explore your new home! Watch a video about some first-year students’ move-in weekend experience.

The Xperience

Sunday, September 22, Hutchison Field, 6-8pm

This is THE event if you are interested in going Greek. Co-sponsored by the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life and UC Davis Athletics, The Xperience hosts a ton of friendly competitions and gives students the chance to learn more about Greek life at UC Davis.

Aggie Welcome Rally

Sunday, September 22, 8-9 PM
You’re an Aggie now! Join a few thousand of your new friends for fun, free stuff and lots and LOTS of Aggie Pride. Watch a video of the Aggie Welcome Rally.

Movie Night - Toy Story 4

Sunday, September 22, 9-11 PM
Pass the popcorn, dim the lights and settle in to watch a movie on the Pavilion’s big screen.

Fall Welcome Event - Aggie Heroes: For the Better

Monday, September 23, Pavilion at the ARC, 3:15-5 PM
Join Chancellor May and the Aggie Heroes in a celebration to kick off the new academic school year for all of our Aggie community including staff, faculty, students, new students and Davis community members. Get a free T-shirt and a free meal, and have a chance to win some Aggie swag items!

This event is FREE to all - but you must register in order to receive an admission ticket and a wristband voucher. The wristband is required in order to receive the free T-shirt and free after-event meal. Register at http://bit.ly/fallwelcome19 (Note: students will need their student IDs for ticket requests)

New Student Resource Fair

Monday, September 23, Hutchison Field, 5-8 PM
Get to know your new home, enjoy live music and food, and score free T-shirts and prizes. Sponsored by Student Housing and Dining Services, this fair gives students the chance to learn about campus services, resources and departments.

First Day of Class

Wednesday, September 25

Transfer Fall Welcome

Thursday, September 26, ARC Ballroom, 4-6 PM
Meet other transfer students, access key resources and enter raffles and giveaways as you begin your transition to UC Davis.

Sunset Fest

Friday, September 27, UC Davis Health Stadium , 6PM
Welcome back Aggies!! ASUCD is excited to bring you Sunset Fest, a free concert to welcome all new and returning UC Davis students to our bustling campus. Get ready for a student talent showcase followed by a live set by our very special headliner (which will be announced soon) to close out Welcome Week. Students will also get a chance to grab freebies and learn more about ASUCD units tabling at the event.

Running of the First Years

Saturday, September 28, UC Davis Health Stadium, TBD
Join the Aggies and help us pack UC Davis Health Stadium! Running of the First Years will be our first event of the day, arrive early and run across the field on your way to your seat!

Student Involvement Fair

Tuesday, October 8, Quad, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Want to get involved? Learn about 200-plus student organizations and campus departments and all they have to offer, including activities, service projects and programs.

Pajamarino/Discover Davis

Friday, October 11, Davis Amtrak Station, 5:30-7 PM
Note: You can also join the pajama parade to the train station; meet at Davis Central Park at 4:30 p.m.
This more than 100-year-old homecoming tradition continues as pajama-clad students, led by the Student Alumni Association, parade through downtown Davis to the Davis Amtrak train station to greet returning alumni the night before Homecoming. Watch a video of the 100th Pajamarino. Discover Davis, hosted by the Davis Chamber of Commerce and the Cal Aggie Alumni Association, brings new and returning UC Davis students and others from the UC Davis community to downtown Davis to learn more about area businesses. With 40-plus businesses handing out coupons and swag giveaways, plus entertainment from the Band-uh!, it’s a great start to your Homecoming weekend!

Wear your Aggie blue and gold and get ready to cheer on the UC Davis men’s football team at the Homecoming game.
