Be a #UCDavisUpstander

There are no blurred lines.

This academic year we’re calling for every Aggie to pledge to be a UC Davis Upstander. If you haven’t heard that term before, an upstander is someone who takes active, intentional steps to stop sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.

As an upstander, you:

Why should you pledge?

Sexual violence affects us all. A recent survey of students at colleges across the United States revealed that 1 in 6 undergraduate students and 1 in 14 graduate and professional school students have experienced some type of non-consensual sexual contact since entering college.

While sexual violence affects people of all genders, this study showed that students identified as transgender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, questioning, and other genders not listed within the survey disproportionately experienced non-consensual contact (Association of American Universities Campus Survey on Sexual Assault and Sexual Misconduct).

Just one act of sexual violence is too many. Pledge to be an upstander, and show your support on social media by using the hashtag #UCDavisUpstander

"No" doesn't mean convince me.

There Are No Blurred Lines

End sexual violence.
