Residence Halls

Student Housing operates 18 residence halls totaling 27 buildings which are distributed among three areas of campus: Segundo, Tercero and Cuarto. All areas offer shared indoor and outdoor space, dining commons, laundry facilities, academic support and computer resources.

Cuarto Residence Hall

Home to approximately 1,000 students, Cuarto residents have access to the area service desk and an academic advising center in Thoreau Hall, a computer center in Castilian Hall, a computer center and game area in Emerson Hall and the dining commons. All halls offer multiple lounges and study rooms.

Segundo Residence Hall

Segundo is a collection of fourteen residence halls which approximately 2,300 residents call home. The Segundo Services Center houses the area service desk, the academic advising center, computer center, the Junction and an assortment of study spaces. The dining commons are located in a state-of-the-art building in the southwest corner of Segundo.

Tercero Residence Hall

Tercero is a centrally located home to approximately 1,200 students within its 6 buildings. The Tercero Services Center houses the dining commons, a game room, area service desk, academic advising center, computer center, multiple lounges and study rooms. Tercero's large lounge can be used for group activities, including large functions and community movie nights.

On-campus Apartments

Would you like to combine the freedom and privacy of your own apartment with the convenience of on-campus living? The privately owned on-campus apartment complexes allow you to enjoy the best of both worlds. 

The Atriums at La Rue

The Atriums at La Rue Park is a privately-managed apartment complex on campus for single UC Davis graduate students. The 16 studio and 48 two-bedroom apartments have full carpeting, dishwashers, microwave ovens, refrigerators and central heat and air conditioning. Each building has its own study spaces and laundry facility. The Atriums is maintained by a professional maintenance staff and is known for its quiet environment.

The Colleges at La Rue

The Colleges at La Rue is a privately-managed apartment complex located on the UC Davis campus. The Colleges is a campus-sponsored living-learning community where residents participate in leadership development programs hosted by the Center for Leadership Learning.

The Tri-Co-ops

The Tri-Cooperatives are one community, composed of three craftsman-style houses on campus that place emphasis on low-impact living. Approximately ten to twelve residents occupy each house. The Tri-Coops give students the opportunity to experience communal living, gardening and consensus-based decision making.

The Domes

Only at UC Davis, can you live like a Hobbit, aside from the Lord of the Rings movie set. The Domes, also known as Baggins End Innovative Housing, is an on-campus housing community for UC Davis students. You can apply to live in one of the 14 domes and be one of the 26 UC Davis residents in this student co-housing cooperative community.

West Village

UC Davis West Village is the new campus neighborhood located adjacent to campus across Highway 113. It is designed to enable faculty, staff and students to live near campus, take advantage of environmentally-friendly transportation options and participate fully in campus life.

Student Family Housing

Where can you find a supportive, study-focused place to live that’s also a great place to raise your family? UC Davis offers three student family housing complexes on campus to meet the unique needs of our students with children.

Russell Park

Designed specifically for students with families, Russell Park has two playground areas on grounds, as well as a volleyball court and barbecue area. This privately owned and managed complex is located east of campus.

Solano Park

The Solano Park complex is located in the southeast corner of campus next to the Putah Creek arboretum. An assortment of two and three-story buildings with 108 one-bedroom and 168 two-bedroom apartments are surrounded by lawns, playgrounds and park benches. Solano Park is close to the main campus library and downtown Davis.

Other Housing Resources

Community Housing Listing

The Community Housing Listing (CHL) is an online database that students and Davis community members can use to search for available housing off campus. You can also add a listing to the CHL database for a nominal fee. If you can't access the CHL online stop by the ASUCD Student Services Office view the listings.

Safe Party Resources

Wherever you live, it's a good idea to get to know your neighbors and your neighborhood. The Safe Party website has a number of tips and resources for communicating with your neighbors and keeping your party from ending on a low note.
